How to Cleanse and Detoxify Your Body

Have you been feeling sluggish, unmotivated, unenergetic, and unhealthy in your current lifestyle? If so, maybe it is time for you to cleanse and detoxify your body through a series of healthy habits. Here are a few approaches that will help you to cleanse and detoxify your body.

Eat Fresh Fruits and Vegetables

One dietary change that will help you to cleanse and detoxify your body is to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables have many vitamins and nutrients that will cleanse and strengthen your body. If you get easily bored of eating vegetables, you probably need to spruce them up and prepare them in a new, creative way. 

Try looking for recipes of sauces, garnishes, or dressings that could help make your salads and vegetables more delicious. If you have a hard time getting through solid fruits and often have them going bad in your fridge, blend them into a smoothie instead. Getting creative with your fruits and vegetables can help you to eat them more often. 

Drink More Water

Next, make sure that you’re drinking more water. Most adults should be drinking around 8 cups of water every day. This equals about 48 ounces of water. Water helps your gut and digestive system to work properly. Water helps cleanse your teeth of bacteria and food particles. Dehydration that comes from not drinking enough water can lead to many health issues. 

If you are trying to drink more water but are getting bored of the lack of flavor, try adding fresh fruit to your water to give it some healthy and natural flavor. You can also add sugar-free flavoring to incentivize yourself to drink more water. 

Try Fasting

Another way to detoxify your body is to try fasting. Fasting periodically can help to cleanse your body of any excess foods or unwanted toxins. There are many benefits that come from healthy fasting. Don’t feel like you have to fast daily or to extreme lengths to detoxify your body. Long-term fasting can actually reduce your energy and have negative effects on your body. Even fasting for a few meals once or twice a month can help you to receive these detox benefits. Just make sure that you keep drinking water so you don’t become dehydrated.
